AMAZEMET at ISIMP 2025: Showcasing Our Technology for High-Performance Materials

We are excited to announce our participation in the 4th International Symposium on Innovation in Materials Processing (ISIMP 2025), taking place from October 26-29, 2025, in Jeju, Korea. This event is a key meeting point for leading scientists, researchers, and engineers to exchange information on the latest research and innovation in materials processing. We look forward to connecting with experts and professionals from academia and all branches of the industry.

AMAZEMET will be represented by Jakub Ciftci, who will deliver a presentation on our latest research in advanced powder production.

📆 Our Presentation on Ultrasonic Atomization for Hypersonic Applications

Our Presentation on Ultrasonic Atomization for Hypersonic Applications

Jakub Ciftci will present a new study on the processing of high-performance materials for additive manufacturing and beyond. While Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) has shown great promise for refractory metals, a bottleneck remains in the availability of suitable powder feedstocks. Traditional atomization methods are often restricted by feedstock form, and other two-step routes can introduce porosity, which reduces powder quality.

Our research demonstrates how ultrasonic atomization based on a plasma melting process can successfully produce high-quality powders from a wide range of materials. The presentation will focus on our work with pure rhenium and High Entropy Alloys (HEAs) which were atomized and then processed in LPBF. Our setup’s flexibility also allowed us to perform both arc melting and atomization in the same chamber, showcasing a streamlined process for alloy development. We will also present additional case studies, including on reactive and lightweight materials.

The presentation will cover:

  • Abstract Title: Ultrasonic Atomization of High-performance Materials for Additive Manufacturing and Beyond
  • Speaker: Jakub Ciftci
  • Event: International Symposium on Innovation in Materials Processing
  • Location: Phoenix Jeju, Korea
  • Date & Time: To be announced in the official conference program.

This research validates ultrasonic atomization as a valuable method for creating high-quality spherical powders of challenging refractory materials, providing a new pathway for developing components for hypersonic and other extreme environments.
