AMAZEMET will be participating in the MRS Fall Meeting 2025 & Exhibit in Boston, Massachusetts, taking place from November 30 to December 5. This meeting is the field’s foremost international scientific gathering for materials research, attracting interdisciplinary scientists from academia, national laboratories, and industry.

Our team will be represented by Tomasz Choma and Jakub Ciftci, who will be presenting research on advanced metal powder manufacturing and processing for extreme environments. We encourage attendees to incorporate these technical sessions into their schedules.

Our Presentations at MRS Fall Meeting 2025

1. Refractory Medium Entropy Alloys Powders Manufactured via Ultrasonic Atomization Method

This presentation addresses the challenge of converting complex, high-melting-point refractory medium entropy alloys (RMEAs)—such as those based on hafnium, niobium, molybdenum, and titanium—into spherical powder feedstock for additive manufacturing (AM). Due to their high strength and poor machinability, preparing RMEAs into conventional feedstock forms (rods, wires) is difficult. We will demonstrate how ultrasonic atomization provides a flexible solution: a plasma arc melting process synthesizes the alloy, and ultrasonic vibrations disintegrate the molten metal into fine droplets. This technique was applied to a quaternary Hf-Nb-Mo-Ti system alloy, yielding powder with spherical morphology, chemical uniformity, and a single-phase microstructure suitable for high-temperature applications.
