Abstract:
This presentation introduces AMAZEMET’s innovative Powder2Powder (P2P) system, designed to accelerate metal powder recycling and enhance additive manufacturing (AM) processes. The P2P system addresses oversized, undersized, and irregularly shaped powders, transforming them into high-quality, spherical particles with no satellites, no fines, and a narrow particle size distribution (PSD), ideal for AM applications. Through the combined use of plasma processing and ultrasonic atomization, the P2P system reclaims out-of-spec powders and enables the production of custom alloy powders with precise chemical compositions directly from powder feedstock. This sustainable approach reduces powder waste and supports efficient AM processes such as Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) and Directed Energy Deposition (DED), enabling both research and industrial users to improve powder performance and broaden material capabilities in metal additive.
