Abstract:
This presentation highlights how ultrasonic atomization can support localized, flexible production of high-performance powders from elemental feedstock and out-of-spec material. Special focus will be given to the recycling of critical raw materials such as titanium, niobium, and rhenium—essential for strategic industries and Europe’s long-term security of supply. The presentation will also explore applications where powder quality directly affects performance, such as the use of spherical Al and Ti powders in fuels and pyrotechnics. By enabling in-house powder production, ultrasonic atomization offers an effective way to minimize dependencies and enhance material readiness across defense and aerospace sectors.
