XIRIS thermal vision

Today a small peek into our new capabilities of arc casting and alloys creation on the #rePowder device! Thermal imaging by always the best #XIRIS.

Currently, we are using the arc-casting and melting capabilities to design new alloys or prepare feedstock material for powder production – everything in one setup.

In the video, Ti6Al4V is being alloyed (or refined?) with a tiny bit of ceramic particles. The goal is to get MMC powder, yet with reinforcement already in the metallic particles.

With thermal imaging, we can investigate the solidification behaviour of novel alloy and create approximate phase diagrams easily.

What is Additive Manufacturing? A Comprehensive Guide
Additive Manufacturing, frequently referred to as 3D printing, involves the fabrication of three-dimensional objects through the successive deposition of material layers based on digital models. Owing to its unique capabilities, Additive Manufacturing has experienced substantial growth and adoption across diverse sectors, encompassing aerospace, automotive, and healthcare, among others.
